The weekend's weather was brilliant with the course setup with testing, yet fair conditions for all golfers. Optus are also sponsor a generous Hole-in-One prizes available on the "Optus Hole" on the Par 3 - Hole 3.

Optus Capel Cup

The Capel Cup format is a Par event played over two days. Participants were faced with a true test of golf with greens, as they always are at Capel, setup from hole to hole with consistent pace that rewarded well played shots played with the right pace on the correct line. Many players were caught out by the quick speeds on day 1, with scores improving on day 2.

Last year's runner-up Sean Cunniffe was tied with last year's winner Gary Gislingham after day 1 with fine scores of +3. Gary ended finishing third on count back to Dave Harley on +2, and the honours were taken by Sean, the champion golfer of 2023, with a fine score of +4.

Shaye Tresize, won the lowest Gross prize with a great score of +1 for the weekend.

Congratulations to all those that took part and helped make the event a success. We look forward to seeing everyone next year.
